Greek Tragedy 'Oedipus Rex' in Nepal
Nepali Performers are performing the Greek tragedy 'Oedipus Rex' by Sophocles in the Nepali Theater, Gurukul. The play Oedipus Rex has been staged many times across the globe, and the charm and legacy of King Oedipus lives on. This is perhaps the third time that the play has been performed in Nepal. The play has been localised brilliantly, with dialogues that include Nepali proverbs such as Jun Goruko Singh Chaina Uskai Naam Tikhe and costumes displaying Nepali fabric and colours. Sunil Pokharel’s direction had many colors to describe. His choices of lighting, his ideas of presenting the costumes and his approach to presenting the drama, with a Nepali touch, is really fascinating.

Painting abstract nature with camera and light
While learning photography, I learned that photography is painting with light but with the help of camera. Normally it is taught that you should focus your subject sharply through the lens and should not also shake your camera to avoid the blurred image. Some times when we break the rule, we discover different approach with new expression. Here in these photos I have broken the rule of sharp focus and camera shake to express abstract expression of nature. All these photos are of a flower plant that I took with defocused lens, camera shake and fast zoom in and out. Each time the abstract images give different play of colors with different movements
Here ,I have followed the definition of photography "painting with light but with the help of camera" In my perspective these images are beautiful because they consist of play of lights and colors for visual pleasure and the abstract expression of natural flowering plant letting the viewer to imagine thousand words. In fact I would like to say these images abstract painting of nature with the help of light and camera. It is just a different way of expression, the rest is for you to comment……………………………….

Sun Flower and Sunset at Mobile Tower
Today, I took two shots that i was waiting to take since a long time. I am learning that patience is the most essential thing in photography. I was waiting the blooming of this sun flower since one month when it was planted at my office ICIMOD, where i am working as an intern. Today i can't help to capture it in my memory and in camera's memory too. And concerning the shot with mobile phone tower, i took many shots of sunset with this mobile tower before. Every time there was some thing missing in the shot , and i didn't knew what it was. With this shot, today, i realized that it was human being that i was missing in the previous shots.
